The Splendor of Truth

A PERSONALIZED EDUCATION

ORA ET LABORA

Our School

We prepare modern students for the modern world by providing the essential elements of a Classical curriculum during our half-day program and the freedom to advance your child’s own practical interests in the afternoons. We embrace a culture of educational freedom.

We are committed to taking proven best practices and applying them in innovative and flexible ways to reflect the specific talents and needs of the students in our microschool.

In a world advancing AI at breakneck speeds, it is not enough for students to receive and retain information (computers can do that); they also need to be confident, wise decision makers and/or be skilled laborers (computers cannot do either). The old model of sitting seven hours at a desk is great for transmitting information from teacher to student. The best traditional educations do even more— they force a student to think and earn their knowledge.

An entire day of desk work does little to encourage a student’s ability to make decisions with confidence and, ultimately, with wisdom. And, of course, it cannot develop physical skills. Both of these skills come from practice.

We know every child is different: their skills, interests, and personalities. Our program is run by a certified teacher who is trained in how to reach each student and maximize his or her potential. This includes as much hands-on work as possible. We don’t use worksheets for “busy work,” and we intentionally limit our class sizes to 10 students.

We also allow parents to customize their child’s education by electing one of three levels of homework. And we don’t dictate what enrichment your child needs or how he or she should spend the day. If your child loves ballet, she doesn’t need PE. If your child wants to learn piano, he doesn’t need choir. We have whittled our curriculum down to the Classical essentials so you can decide how your children should develop the talents God gave them.

Finally, though we approach our studies from a Catholic viewpoint, we do not provide catechism or Latin. However, there are several Latin programs that we can recommend if you wish.
